SEWE Weekend, February 17 - 19

The weather was simply unbeatable, and the visitors to our booth were so generous. It was a joy and a privilege to be there to meet and greet everyone. There were locals that we recognized, and out-of-towners that came to enjoy the hospitality that Charleston is so famous for offering.

One of my favorite experiences includes meeting some of our directors for the first time. Bob was great to spend the afternoon with, and I got to briefly meet Tina and hubby Rhett. Not only were our raffles well received, but so many folks just donated to our cause out of the goodness of their hearts. I think we were successful in spreading the word about what we are trying to accomplish, about our enthusiasm for this cause, and our deep feelings for our returning veterans who need and deserve every bit of help we can give them.

Thanks to Les and Sandy for all of their preparation, and to all our members for their time making our booth so successful. Now we can rest briefly, and then hop to it and make the Dog Dash equally and hopefully even more successful. Am I being greedy to say that? I hope not, because I want our work to make our organization financially successful so that we can serve the needs of the Charleston military veteran community.
